Description
Driven by her belief in “design without boundaries”, Hong Kong fashion designer Meiyi Cheung has always pursued a multi-disciplinary design practice, and transformed the confinement of tradition through her creative work.
This work is from Cheung’s Lost in Procession series. Instead of technological advancement, Cheung pursues to find the lost innate sensation through an extensive handmade process. Cheung explores topics of memory, vision, audio and tactile perception to reflect the potential possibilities of combining fashion design and traditional crafts. Using cyanotype printing on washable paper with bouquets made of copper mesh and assembled by bolts and nuts, Cheung attempts to present the plants in the memory through an imprecise recording method.
