  • Description

Facing the urban redevelopment, the few remaining old shops in old districts cannot escape from demolition. The family shop where the owners live at the back, the back-alley shop, the brothers’ shop, the couple-run shop and the ancestral domestic shop of three generations, will all vanish one by one. Go Ming-ching, Simon preserved old neighbourhood shops through images that captured not only the décor and interior layout of the shops, but also the history, culture, humanism and spirit of their surrounding community. Long Kee Noodle Shop is a heart-warming portrait of brotherhood. Run by four brothers who are body-building and Chinese martial arts enthusiasts, the noodle shop has become a rather famous landmark in Mongkok.
