Artist Bio
Yu Wai-kin, Vincent pursued his photographic studies at the Hong Kong Polytechnic and graduated with a Diploma in Photography in 1989. He worked as a photojournalist at the Hong Kong Standard between 1985 and 1989, before joining Associated Press in 1989. Yu was chairman of the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association in 2004 and 2005. He is one of the founding members of the Hong Kong International Photo Festival. Between 2010 and 2012, he founded the Upper Station Photo Gallery, holding exhibitions on various Hong Kong photographers. His works have been recognized by many honours, including the National Headliner Awards and Press Photography Competition Awards from the Hong Kong Press Photographers Association.

Description
Yu Wai-kin, Vincent is interested in recording the vanishing scenes. With scrappy images, he hopes to assemble remnant values of a city. Since 2003, he travelled across Hong Kong to shoot the shores and the process was rather like Alice in Wonderland. Every trip took him to a different place, such as totally wild rock beaches and coastal districts lined with screens of tower blocks.
